Event in Manchester to mark the 80th anniversary of the International Brigades' Farewell Parade, Sunday 28 October, 1pm

To commemorate the 80^th anniversary of the departure of the International Brigades from Barcelona in 1938, this event will feature Maxine Peake reciting the famous farewell to the International Brigades address given by ‘La Pasionaria’ (Dolores Ibarruri) and a screening of the acclaimed film ‘Unsung Hero: The Jack Jones Story’.

Speakers also include Dolores Long (daughter of Sam Wild – Commander of the British Battalion at the Battle of the Ebro) and Jim Jump (Secretary of the International Brigades Memorial Trust).
