UNISON North West gears up to organise healthcare staff

UNISON North West is gearing up for an intensive two weeks of organising, campaigning and recruitment in health branches in our region from 13th to 24th May 2013.

With unprecedented cuts to NHS services squeezing budgets across the public health system, and the threat of publicly owned health assets being sold off to private providers under the coalition Government’s ‘new NHS’, there has never been a more important time for trade unions to defend Britain’s best loved institution. Likewise, there has never been a more important time for health workers to have the protection of a trade union to defend their jobs, conditions of service and the quality of care they provide.

Building on the success of UNISON’s spring recruitment campaign, our regional centre will be providing comprehensive support, guidance and resources to branches to assist in local activity, including the deployment of fighting fund organisers and other full time officials to support union work in health workplaces across the North West.

More information will be available shortly.
