UNISON Representative Eugene Leech told us: ‘In the ever changing world of education, it has never been more important for support staff working in academies, free schools and faith schools to be members of UNISON.’

Wednesday 25th September

Representatives from UNISON met with staff at Elton Community School on 25 September to discuss the proposal to change the school to forced academy status. They offered support in any campaign and are liaising with colleagues in the NUT and NASUWT to work on a community based action plan against the proposed forced academy. Our members felt re-assured the union is supporting them.
