Stop TTIP – Campaign update meeting, Tuesday 9 December, 6pm, Manchester

Stop TTIPDavid Cameron recently said that the arguments against TTIP are “weak” – there’s a chance to find out for yourself at a meeting in Manchester tonight.   

TTIP (the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership) is a proposed trade deal largely being conducted in secret between the EU and US Government. UNISON believes TTIP is a profound threat to public services which will not only lead to further liberalisation but which will make it harder for government to regulate private companies providing public services and could effectively prevent a future government bringing those services back in-house.

UNISON North West will be hosting a meeting about TTIP on Tuesday 9 December at 6pm at Arena Point (M3 1UN).   

John Hilary, Executive Director of War on Want, will provide an update on the campaign to stop TTIP.  He is the author of the report: ‘TTIP: A charter for deregulation, an attack on jobs, an end to democracy’  which is available here:
