South Ribble Branch Gets Healthy!

South Ribble council held their annual Health and Wellbeing Day in September and the local UNISON branch were there to support them.

Armed with information on stress busting courses, opportunities for further learning and tactile squeezy ambulances, the UNISON learning stall was busy with many members completing online iPad surveys about diet, members taking information about courses and non members interested in signing up to UNISON.

There was fresh fruit available, information stalls and health checks for heart, diabetes, cholesterol and bone density among other things. Branch Education Coordinator Mike Shaw enjoyed the day;

It’s always a good day and great that UNISON could be a part of it and show the range of courses we can offer; we can really help so do come and talk to us. I’ve had a good time here today and I got checked out and have a clean bill of health too!”

If you have an event coming up, do contact Learning Organiser Steve Swift on [email protected] and we’ll be happy to support you.
