Skills for Strength 2020 Resources

Skills for Strength 2020 took place on Saturday 14 March 2020. More activists registered for a ticket for UNISON North West's annual Organising Convention than ever before. Despite the difficult circumstances relating to the coronavirus pandemic, an inspiring day of workshops and speeches were enjoyed by around 100 activists from across the region. We're keen that as many of the presentations and resources from the day as possible are made available online. This feels particularly important this year because some activists who registered were prevented from attending by the public health crisis we are currently facing. So please download, use and share these resources, then get out into your workplaces and organise!

Go for Growth Recruitment Awards


The union’s national Go for Growth recruitment campaign runs until June 2nd

The region is acknowledging the performance of North West branches in building the union through recruitment awards. 

Bronze for 50+ new members

Silver for 100+

Gold for 150+

Platinum for 200+

Prizes for branches include organising merchandise. 

Already, Manchester University Health Branch has recruited 52 new members in May, and has secured a Bronze Recruitment Award. 

There are still three weeks to go for branches to take part in the Go for Growth campaign.
