Services throughout the region will be closed and disrupted in a massive show of anger by council and school support staff whose pay has been under attack for the past six years. In the past week alone 2500 new members have joined the union in the North West in a sign of mounting support for the strike.
A growing number of local politicians, including the influential City Mayors in Liverpool and Salford, are backing further negotiations and an improved offer.
This action has been a long time coming and only a united show of strength will secure the pay rise our members deserve.
All North West UNISON members are encouraged to support local picket lines and attend the rallies being held across the region.
