Around 400 marchers turned out in Chorley on Saturday to show their support for the local hospital and their opposition to privatisation in the NHS.

The march was organised by the Central Lancashire Health Branch after the local trust brought forward proposals to outsource Chorley Hospital’s sterile services function.  The Trust can be in no doubt that people in Chorley don’t want their health services to be run for private profit.

The march concluded with a rally addressed by UNISON speakers: Dion Baugh (Regional Organiser), Pete Smith (Central Lancashire Health Branch) and Lee Morgan (Lancashire Care).
