Part of our Schools Support Staff course offer, this half day session looks at de-escalating violent situations and how to recognise signs and signals that pre-empt a violent outburst from pupils with a focus specifically on SECONDARY school age children. Great for any TAs or schools support staff. In the course you will learn:
• To examine the reasons why young people display challenging behaviour
• To explore ways in which we can influence a positive learning environment
• To identify different types of challenging behaviour
• To share, discuss and reflect on strategies for preventing and managing challenging behaviour and pupil violence
This half day session is held in WIGAN.
The tutor for this session is Jez Brigham, he has been Deputy Head of a special school and has had a broad career working at a primary school and with children with SEN. He has developed strategies for dealing with extremely challenging behaviour and has delivered training to education teams and teachers.
