The GMCA appreciates that its workforce is central to achieving its aspirations and encourages its employees to be union members.
The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) has signed a recognition agreement with trade unions.
The agreement acknowledges the central role that the workforce has in achieving the GMCA’s aspirations of achieving high quality services and promoting economic growth.
UNISON will be consulted on all aspects of terms and conditions, including local policies. UNISON is also an active part of the newly established Local Joint Committee where we negotiate with GMCA management.
The agreement also sets out a vision for a more inclusive and productive Greater Manchester and states that “the GMCA encourages all GM employers, partners and providers to adopt appropriate and constructive trades union recognition and bargaining arrangements...”
