Anti-fracking rally near Preston and Friends of the Earth get-together in Liverpool

Fracking is an issue that is of great concern to many UNISON members in the North West, because of the impact it could have on our communities and the wider impact of burning fossil fuels on the planet. 

There is a national anti-fracking rally taking place on the proposed fracking site on Preston New Road (PR4 3PE - between Preston and Blackpool) on Saturday, 11am-2pm.  This will be a family-friendly event.  More details about the rally are available here. 

Also on Saturday, Friends of the Earth are holding their annual North West gathering at the Quaker Meeting House in Liverpool.  The afternoon session is open to anyone interested in environmental and social justice issues and there will be discussion, workshops and activities.  There’s lots more information about the event here.
