A special Stars in Our Schools event was held at Sacred Heart Primary School on 4th December. The school had chosen UNISON member Farooq Khan to receive an award for

'keeping our school clean, tidy and safe and for going above and beyond the call of duty to help and support us all’.

This was presented by Paul Crewe, Assistant Branch Secretary in assembly in front of the school children and members of staff. Following this, Paul, Louise Astin Branch Organiser, Tom Jenkins Regional Learning Organiser and Geoff Wilkinson Photographer went into the staff room. Tom spoke about learning opportunities in UNISON, talked about becoming a ULR Union Learning Rep, used Ipads for Skills tests and even did a skills awareness game with a member. We also took lots of cakes!
