We are sorry to report the death of Bernie Smith, who served as Branch Secretary at Liverpool University for 16 years.
Bernie Smith was an activist for many years both in UNISON and former partner union NUPE, where he played an active part representing his branch through many changes and provided a voice for his members at Liverpool University.
He was respected by members, colleagues and his employer.
He will be sadly missed by all family, friends, UNISON members and colleagues.
A funeral mass is to be held at St Philomena’s Church, Sparrow Hall on Friday April 1st at 10am, followed by interment at Everton Cemetery.
