At the 19th Annual Learning Awards in February, Sefton Health UNISON branch and Aintree University Hospital won the silver award for their work with apprentices. The judges particularly “applauded the involvement of union officials within the programme” which shows the excellent learning relationship that branch and employer have.
ULR lead Marie Reece was delighted with the award; “This just shows the excellent work we have done together over the last few years. The apprentice scheme could not have been so successful without this cooperation and we have continued to connect with members in our recent digital inclusion project, funded by UNISON, along with some very exciting upcoming activity with apprentices.”
Fiona Chapman, Aintree’s lead on apprenticeships said, “Aintree’s reputation as an apprentice employer continues to grow and this most recent award demonstrates the quality of our apprenticeship programmes. Much of our apprenticeship success has been as a result of our tremendous partnership with unionlearn who have enabled more staff to access our programmes and championed these opportunities amongst harder to reach staff groups.”
It’s great to see excellent learning work celebrated and here’s to more awards to come!
