From 30th March to 1st April, UNISON members across our National Health Service are campaigning for a fair and decent pay rise for all NHS staff, to recognise the extraordinary contribution our members have made, which has never been more essential than during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The 1st April is also a national day of campaigning across NHS Trade Unions on pay. Staff and the public are being encouraged through the #WithNHSStaff campaign to display window posters and write to local newspaper editors on this day.
There are lots of things you can do in your UNISON branch to help build the campaign, and there are a number of campaign materials you can download below:
- Update your details with UNISON, and encourage other members to do the same, so that we can ensure we are ready to consult you and ballot if necessary, after the Pay Review Body reports back in late May/early June. Please distribute the materials below, and keep the campaign visible in wards and departments. If you're not already a UNISON member, join the union today.

Please use the posters below to gather photos of the public and UNISON members/staff supporting the campaign. Share them on social media (ensuring no confidential patient data is visible and you have their permission). Tag in UNISON North West on Twitter and Facebook.
These posters can also be used as window posters for April 1st – please encourage colleagues and friends to display their support for a fair NHS pay rise.
- Branches across the union are being encouraged to write to their local newspaper to help raise the profile of the campaign and draw the attention of local MPs.
