Members will be receiving ballot papers by post with the November edition of the U magazine to vote on whether or not UNISON can continue its poltical campaign work.
The vote is about all political work – whether that’s campaigning to protect the NHS, campaigning to defeat the BNP or campaigning with the Labour Party.
This ballot is a legal requirement every ten years and if there is a ‘no’ vote, most of our current campaigning activity will no longer be possible. Political issues have such an impact on UNISON members that it would seriously damage the effectiveness of the union if it could no longer engage in political campaigns. Please vote YES for the political fund.
Members need to send the ballot paper back in by 30 November 2014. If you have not received your ballot paper by 10 November please call 0800 0 857 857.
