UNISON Sefton Health Branch Win Apprentices Award!

UNISON Sefton Health Branch Win Apprentices Award!

On 4th September, Sefton Heath branch, in association with their employer Aintree Hospital, won the BEA Systems Award for Large Employer of the year, North West region. They now progress to the national finals. This is due to the learning and training work that the branch and the employer, Aintree Hospital Trust, do together for apprentices. Almost 400 staff have completed apprenticeships with 40% of those progressing from advanced to higher apprenticeships.

As the trust remarked in a statement about the award “We pride ourselves on our inclusive, cohesive apprenticeship programmes which engages staff at all levels, gaining us regional acclaim”.

Marie Reece, ULR lead for the UNISON branch said “This award is testament to the learning work we have done with the trust, we place learning at the centre of our work with the members, it fits with everything we do., We are very proud of the work we do with apprentices and the learning continues in the digital inclusion project which we are currently rolling out to staff – keep an eye out for launches in your workplace.”
