Supporting Trans Young People and Children, Wigan, Wednesday 26th August, 2020

This half day course is ran by Mermaids, the charity that supports children and young people with gender dysphoria.

The course will explore:
•Understanding gender identity and gender diversity: what it means to be trans or gender non-conforming
•LBGT+ terminology
•Challenges faced by trans young people: isolation, bullying, discrimination, family issues social situations, mental health, transitioning while at school etc.
•Transition pathways
•Managing single sex spaces.

Before you sign up for this course please read the course description carefully and make sure you can attend on the date; Wednesday 26th August. We have had lots of members cancelling their places on courses, this means other members miss out on places and courses can be cancelled at a cost to UNISON
