Public Service Workers Need a Pay Rise

LG Pay logoFair Pay in our NHS

Workers delivering valuable public services have been subject to five years of pay freezes and pay caps. Enough is enough.

  • NHS workers are at least 10% worse off than when the government came to power.
  • Local government workers and school support staff have seen the value of their pay drop by 18%.
  • Those on the lowest pay levels earn barely more than the National Minimum Wage, and many rely on tax credits and benefits.

Workers in local government and the NHS face huge challenges in their workplaces with rising demand for services and insufficient resources to deliver them. It is not right that their living standards should be attacked.

It is time for public service workers to take a stand on pay.
