Our thoughts remain with the victims of the bombing and their families and friends.
We at UNISON North West are all shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of life at Manchester Arena last week. Our thoughts are with the victims of the bombing and their friends and families.
At this enormously difficult time, we are encouraged by the response of the people of Greater Manchester - helping those in need and being determined to avoid this terrible crime dividing us against each other. As Dave Prentis wrote - hatred will never triumph.
We are also thankful for the bravery, compassion and skills of public service workers who came to the aid of the victims. The accounts of NHS staff who were working that night are both harrowing and inspiring – you can read and watch some of the accounts in the Guardian, Manchester Evening News and BBC. We are proud that our union can count such dedicated and amazing people amongst its members.
