Lancashire County Branch: Caseworker

Lancashire UNISON Branch is currently seeking to recruit a Branch Caseworker to provide a comprehensive casework service to members in the Private, Community, Voluntary sectors and Academy Schools.

Lancashire UNISON Branch (The Branch) represents members working for Lancashire County Council, Lancashire Fire & Rescue, Further Education, all schools and Academies (600 +) in the County and members in 400 + employers in the private, community and voluntary sector (Associated employers). The Branch covers a diverse range of occupational groups.
 
The successful candidate will bring their experience and skills to represent members both on individual issues and in groups. You will need to be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of employment law, employment practices, policies and procedures. You will need to have sound analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with developed communications skills, and be able to persuade others, including dealing confidently with difficult and sensitive situations, in a confidential manner. To undertake this role you must have excellent administrative, IT and organisational skills.
 
The Branch Office is in Preston and you will need to be able to travel to workplaces covered by the Branch, across the county of Lancashire and sometimes over County boundaries. Work related travel expenses will be reimbursed.

The starting salary is LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL GRADE 7 (£24,799-£ 28,785)
 
The post is for a working week of 37 hours per week.  An actual working pattern will be agreed on appointment, however the post holder will need to be flexible.
