Keep Calm and Cast On

Oddballs is a Cheshire West and Chester Council staff knitting group set up by UNISON ULR Beth Edwards and colleague Lorna Davies.

Beth said: “We discovered a mutual interest in knitting through a casual conversation and thought it would be a good idea to meet regularly to knit and exchange yarns, patterns, ideas and stories. We meet every two weeks and bring along either something we are working on, something we would like to learn, or just good conversation. We are always interested in odd bits of yarn, patterns and unwanted needles!”

Everyone is welcome from complete beginners to seasoned knitters and needlecrafters – the group has taught a couple of members to knit and others are learning to crochet.

Lovely to see groups doing things they really want to; Beth is a very energised ULR and the ULRs at UNISON

West Cheshire branch are really working to make learning happen. Oddballs…a great idea that’s not woolly at all! (Ahem…)
